In 1990 Dounne initiated the first
national health education & awareness campaign on the nutritional
benefits of 'the true hot-pepper and spicy foods', backed by the
renowned British medical Professor - Irvin Ziment. Prof. Ziment
is the leading specialist in respiratory disorders; head of the
American UCLA School of Medicine andrmet concoction' as well as
'a medicine'.
-
As a result, 'hot peppers &
spicy foods' has become the essential ingredient it is today
and Dounne's name was recorded in the 'Hall-of-fame' of the
American Chilli Institute
gaining her respect from many
Doctors, Gourmet Connoisseurs and Food-Lovers.
WINTER
- WARMER :
(FLU & HEALTH ALERT!
Flu epidemics has become the annual
British 'winter blues' and when medication runs out, Doctors often
advise patients to use old-fashioned natural remedies. 'Gramma's
Herbal Pepper Sauces' and special 'Caribbean Hot Toddy Drink' were
two such remedies featured on the
This Morning television show, during a particularly severe epidemic
in 1991. Hypothermia is another life threatening winter condition,
killing over 20,000 pensioners each year, which doctors are unable
to treat. Professor Ziment advised that everyone should eat a hot
spicy meal once a day or at least 3 times a week as a preventative
measure. Furthermore, hot peppers, cider vinegar and molasses are
high in 'potassium', which is not only essential for maintaining
good-health but also helps to expel 'uric-acid' and therefore provides
much relief for arthritis and rheumatism sufferers. Gramma's is
the only pepper-sauce in the world made with cider-vinegar and unrefined
molasses-cane-sugar. We also use unrefined 'celtic sea-salt' (from
France) - which contains essential sea-minerals that helps to regulate
blood pressure, improves the heart and is vital for health.
Professor Ziment confirmed that:-
"the entire Chemical Industry of 'cough medicines and expectorant
drugs' was established because of the old folklore medicinal knowledge
of the hot pepper. It is the best natural remedy for all cold disorders,
people with lung problems, smokers, hypothermia and those exposed
to pollution. It may improve both LIFE and BREATH."
